My hobby is writing novels, and by day I work as a Credit Manager. A Credit Manager approves companies/people for open account, meaning they can buy something - for my company that's usually an air conditioner - and pay for it in 30 days. We sell a unit to the person going to your house to change out the air conditioner. This is a loan or an investment in the company coming to your house for the amount we charge him for the air conditioner. If he doesn't pay on his own, I call and try to convince him. Friendly, soft tactics usually work better.

When a company applies for this loan, I have to decide their worthiness. In other words, I have to predict the future. I have to understand people and be able to foresee their behavior. If a prison psychologist misreads and recommends the release of a felon, another crime is committed, but the psychologist works for the government, so he'll never be fired and suffers no repercussions. In the business world, if I'm wrong very often, I get fired. Therefore, I must understand people better than a prison psychologist for professional preservation.

My occupation ties in well with writing novels. I study real people during the day and conjure imaginary people at night. With the release of A Mormon Massacre, I have decided to profile people involved in the slaughter of approximately 150 Arkansan emigrants headed to California in 1857 for the gold rush.
